Nutritional science is the study and understanding of the human body, drawing on chemistry, biology, and food science. Its focus is on the vital role food and nutrients play in supporting and sustaining wellbeing.

When clinically assessing the body, it’s essential to start at the beginning – the mouth. This is where digestion initiates, and nutrients begin their journey of being broken down, absorbed, and utilised. From here, the digestive system and gut microbiome provide the foundations upon which all body systems communicate and function.

In my practice, I place particular emphasis on supporting the gut microbiome, as it is central to overall health. A balanced and diverse microbiome underpins immunity, mood, energy, and the body’s ability to heal. To truly understand what is happening within the gut, I often use gut microbiome testing and functional pathology. These tools allow me to see deeper layers of health, identify imbalances, and uncover the root cause of symptoms. With this insight, we can create a personalised treatment plan that not only nourishes digestion but also restores harmony throughout the body.
