Blackberry, Acai and Cacao layered Smoothie
A quick and easy layered dessert that can be made ahead of time for an afternoon delight or a evening treat
Ingredients:
Black Berry Compote-
· 1 cup fresh or frozen Blackberries
· 1 Tbsp Acai Powder
· 1 Tbsp Raw Honey or Maple Syrup (optional)
Chocolate Smoothie-
. 1 ripe Banana
. 2 Medjool Dates
. 1 cup Almond Milk
. 1 Tbsp Almond Butter
. 1 Tbsp Raw Cacao Powder
. 1/2 Tsp Vanilla Extract
. 1 Tbsp Grass fed Gelatin
French Cream or Coconut Yoghurt to layer
Favourite mix of toppings;
granola, fruit, cacao nibs, buckinis etc
Method:
1) Place compote ingredients in a small saucepan and cook over medium heat until the berries are soft. Mash the berries with a fork and cook until slightly thickened. Let cool and then divided into 2-3 glasses.
2) Layer compote with French cream or coconut yoghurt
3) Blend all smoothie ingredients in a high speed blender until smooth. Pour over cream/yoghurt
4). Sprinkle with your favourite toppings
